Public Enemy’s 3rd studio album was released on 10 April 1990.
A commercial and critical hit, Fear of a Black Planet sold more than 2 million copies in the US (peaking at #10 in the US and #4 in the UK) and was named one of the year’s best albums (#2 by The Boston Globe, #3 by Village Voice and USA Today, and #5 by The Los Angeles Times). The Guardian, NME, Rolling Stone, and Spin have subsequently cited it as one of the best albums of all-time.
