The Needle Galaxy - NGC 4565
The Needle Galaxy is an edge-on spiral galaxy that we are viewing from 40 million light-years away. If more of the galaxy were facing us, it would be more luminous than the Andromeda Galaxy and quite a magnificent site. On a good night the galaxy can be viewed with a small telescope in the constellation Coma Berenices.
