Exposed Cranium Nebula
In this image, the Webb Space Telescope reveals new detail of a mysterious, little-studied nebula surrounding a dying star.
PMR 1 gets its nickname, the “Exposed Cranium Nebula,“ from how its gas and dust resembles a brain in a transparent skull.
